The write stuff.
A snappy and very well laid out introduction to writing, from the nuances of Etruscan alphabets to obscure symbols scribbled on the back of Aztec envelopes.
Ancient writings are a vital resource in mythological research. Where would we be without Egyptian heiroglyphics? But ancient scripts have a beauty and power of their own. Peter, our resident typographical nut, loves this site, which features alphabets and symbols from more languages than you ever thought existed.

The Gods of Kalevala
The Making Of The Kalevala
This site tells of Elias Lönnrot's trips to Kainuu in which he collected the Finnish folk poetry that would help form the basis of the Kalevala. A behind-the-scenes documentary.http://www.juminkeko.fi/lonnrot/en/index.html
Zyra.org.uk
Comprehensive directory of Absolutely Everything
This site has an insane amount of links, and most of them take you somewhere pretty interesting. As a test, take two words at random - the chances are you'll find an entry on the subject. Astronomy hotel? Memory metal? Toilet radio? Goat Christmas? All this and more!
Zyra herself is the kind of colorful punk-pagan techno-philosopher whom the Gods adore. And, due to our devout pleading, she's added a rather nice section on Beliefs to her site. We can never resist funky hair :)

ENCYCLOPEDIA MYTHICA
The grand-daddy of all Mythology websites
Huge and very comprehensive compendium of deities, myths and mythical critters. Has thousands of entries, and even covers some of the more obscure Gods we at Godchecker delight in.
This is a vital information resource, complete with references and sources, although the entries can be a little terse at times. This is a 'straight' site with no humor but lots of info, and comes utterly recommended by the Godchecker Team.
