LAIMA

Baltic Destiny Goddess

Also known as LAIME, LAIMAS-MATE, LAIMAS-MĀTE

Goddess of Fortune and Pregnancy

She is one of the three Baltic goddesses of destiny, and the only one who really does much destinying. She protects unborn children and can foretell their future. But as soon as she utters her prophecy, the child’s future is fixed and cannot be altered. So she is also a Goddess of Fatalistic Determinism.
