The only Saxon Bishop after the Normans invaded, he stopped the capture and sale of slaves at Bristol in his time.
Every day he performed a ceremony: washing the feet of twelve poor men. In the course of a long life, that's a lot of feet. One day it was just too much and he keeled over and died.
