HOU-JI

Chinese Agriculture God

Also known as HOU-CHI

Ancient God of Millet Grains and Farming

He had a somewhat strange birth — his mother JIANG-YUAN stepped in the footprint of the JADE-EMPEROR and became magically pregnant. We can only assume he’d taken his socks off.

Perhaps due to his earthy conception, HOU-JI knows everything about soil, plants and growing things — and is a real whiz with millet. Soon everyone was growing up with growing, and so the Zhou people came into being.
