Ancient Lord of Millet Grains and Farming
A legendary agricultural figure, he had a somewhat strange birth — his mother Jiang Yuan stepped in the footprint of the Jade Emperor and became magically pregnant. We can only assume he’d taken his socks off.
Perhaps due to his earthy conception, Houji knows everything about soil, plants and growing things — and is a real whiz with millet.
Soon everyone was growing up with growing, and so the Zhou people came into being.
