An African Abbot living in Naples, he was sent with THEODORE-OF-TARSUS, the new Archbishop of Canterbury, to assist with teaching Christianity to the barbaric Brits.
He was such a good teacher that pagans converted like crazy. Plus he also taught astronomy, arithmetic and poetry, helping to establish Canterbury as the place of education and learning it still is today.
His tomb at Canterbury is, or was, a place of miraculous events. In 1091 an investigating committee took a peek inside and found his body in pristine condition. Death obviously agreed with him.
