St AGNES-OF-MONTEPULCIANO

Christian Saint

Dominican nun who became an abbess at the age of 15.

She liked to sleep on the ground with a stone for a pillow, so she was well into austerities.

She was sent to Orvieto but her townsfolk wanted her back, so they demolished a house of ill repute and built a nunnery just for her.

So return she did, and established it in the Order of St Dominic.
