Christian Saint

Franciscan tertiary and founder of the Ursuline Nuns.

She broke all the rules, spurned the suggestions of Pope Clement VII, and gathered uneducated and poor girls from the streets of Lombardy to join her movement.

This operated outside the cloister and was the first teaching order for women.
