St DENYS

Christian Saint

Also known as DENIS

Patron Saint of France in General and Paris in particular. Also those Possessed by Spirits

Martyr and Patron of France.

Beheaded on Martyr’s Hill, later to be known as Montmartre, he carried his own head four kilometers to the abbey which bore his name.

This place was later to become the traditional burial place of French Kings.
