St. DOMINIC OF SILOS
Christian Saint
Monastic fixer, revamper and DIY enthusiast
Abbot who was appointed to the Abbey of St Sebastian in Spain.
Finding it a tatty run-down old monastery full of spiders and nastiness, he decided to roll his sleeves up and reboot it into something a little more comfortable.
After much work he’d transformed it in every way. The restoration included a metal workshop and a scriptorium capable of producing literary treasures. It flourished and became a great center of learning.
Where else would one find the ancient Mozarbic Liturgy and Visigothic script?
