St DONATUS

Christian Saint

Also known as DONATUS-OF-FIESOLE

Irish writer, poet and Bishop of Fiesole in Ireland.

Returning from a pilgrimage to Rome, he wandered into a church as the bells started to toll.

There happened to be an election going on, and the ecclesiastical council looked round at the stranger who entered to the sound of bells.

To his surprise they elected him Bishop.
