Also known as Fabianus

Well-hidden Pope and Martyr

He was executed under Emperor Decius and buried in a catacomb. Later he was removed to another catacomb somewhere safer. We cannot help feeling this may have been a bit too late to be much use.

His surviving bits and pieces were not discovered and identified until 1915. That’s how safe it was.
