Prague preacher and Martyr
A star student from the University of Prague, he took holy orders and was picked at the age of 16 for the Court of King Wenceslas (not the good one). Then the Empress Jane picked him again as her personal spiritual director and to help with the nuns at Prague Castle.
Oh dear — jealousy. Wenceslas had the young priest thrown in jail and badly tortured. When Jane got to hear about this she quickly managed a reprieve and freedom.
But not for long. Wenceslas happened to see him limping along the highway, and had his thugs follow. When no-one was looking they did verily bind him with cords and throw him head-first into the river.
