Prioress of the Mantellatae, or short-sleeved nuns. No need to roll their sleeves up before they got stuck in.

They belonged to the Third Order of Servites. That might sound like one of the courses at a posh dinner party but honestly it wasn’t.

Our Saint followed the traditional pattern. She abandoned her wealthy background and gave it all up for veil and virginity, piety, the poor, and doting on devotions.
