St MARY-MAGDALENE

Christian Saint

Patron Saint of Penitents, Converts, Repenters, Reformed Prostitutes, also Druggists, Pharmacists and Chemists

The sinner who washed Christ’s feet with her tears.

Reputed to have been a prostitute, this was probably fabricated to add a little spice. She is the epitome of legends.

Was she the sister of St MARTHA and Lazarus? Did she really mistake JESUS for the gardener when she found the tomb empty?

Did she retire to the wilderness and was nourished by angels who lifted her aloft seven times a day?

Did she have long blonde hair and wear red dresses as portrayed in various paintings?

As Christ is not a surname but means ‘The Anointed One’ did this name come about from the time Mary anointed his feet with oil?

If you have any further questions don’t ask us, just send a postcard to the Vatican.
