St MARY-PAULA-DI-ROSA

Christian Saint

Founder of The Servants of Charity.

Always in the thick of things, she organized parish retreats and a Woman’s Guild from the age of 17 and a workhouse at 24.

By 27 she had founded her Charity which did valuable work in hospitals. Working in Brescia she personally drove plundering soldiers from the hospital brandishing a large crucifix.

They were lucky not to become inmates.
