St SEVERINUS-BOETHUS

Christian Saint

Roman philosopher, statesman and martyr.

It was philosophy that got him into trouble. His work ‘The Consolation of Philosophy’ posed such tricky questions as: how can evil prevail if God is so good?

His theory on the subject was tested by torturing him to death. We hope being a Saint is some small consolation.
