St. WALBURGA
Christian Saint
Also known as Walpurga
Dorset lass turned German Abbess
Growing up, she was surrounded by an unusual number of enthusiastic family preachers.
Her brothers St St. Willibald and St. Winebald, together with her uncle St. Boniface of Mainz persuaded her to leave Wimborne in Dorset and join them in converting heathens in Germany. She ended up as Abbess at Heidenheim.
When you look at the amount of saints in her family, you start to wonder if sainthood is hereditary.
