St WULFSTAN-OF-WORCESTER

Christian Saint

Benedictine Prior who became Bishop.

The only Saxon Bishop after the Normans invaded, he stopped the capture and sale of slaves at Bristol in his time.

Every day he performed a ceremony: washing the feet of twelve poor men. In the course of a long life, that’s a lot of feet. One day it was just too much and he keeled over and died.
