QADESH

Egyptian Desire Goddess

Also known as Qadeshet, Qetesh, Qudshu

Goddess of Love and Sexual Ecstasy.

She seems to have started her career in Syria or thereabouts, but the Egyptians snapped her up as their empire expanded and she was soon in great demand.

As the sexiest third of a triad which included Min and Reshep, Qadesh came close to rivaling Hathor in the sexual stakes.

She was originally depicted as a beautiful woman riding naked on the back of a lion. Due to her non-Egyptian origins, Qadesh was not pictured in profile, but from the front. A unique case of Egyptian full-frontal nudity.
