GANYMEDE

Greek legendary mortal

Also known as GANYMEDES

Cupbearer to the Gods and original gay icon

He was a beautiful youth who became a firm favorite around OLYMPUS, and not just for bearing cups. ZEUS in particular was extremely fond of him in a way which made HERA mad with jealousy.

After a while it became clear that GANYMEDE was causing something of a stir. He was out, he was proud and he was not sneaking around in women’s clothing in fear of being found out.

The newly-fledged homosexual community was delighted with this vindication from on high and gay mortals seized him to their breast. So to speak.
