PLEIADES

Greek Multi-talented Spirits

Also known as ATLANTIDES

Seven Starry Sisters

More daughters of ATLAS who sought stardom after nearly having their careers ruined by ORION.

They all had casting couch affairs with immortal deities of the day except MEROPE, who was propositioned by SISYPHUS, a pushy mortal.

MAIA, TAYGETE and ELECTRA(2) were chosen by ZEUS giving a three-star rating. ALCYONE and CELAENO(2) got POSEIDON and a two-star rating. STEROPE got ARES, so we only give her one star.

Poor little MEROPE gets no stars. She was involved with a mortal and cannot shine so brightly as the others. Take a look at the Pleiades in the night sky and you’ll see.
