KOSHARE

Hopi/Keres legendary event

Also known as Kashare, Koshari, Kushali, Kushapatshikan

Send in the Divine Clowns

These are Kachinas of slapstick ceremonies – divine clowns who are let loose at important rituals with much physical shenanigans and tent-shaking.

Beyond punishment, they are outrageous and great fun. We feel that they ought to be more freely available to attend religious rites overladen with pomposity.

Divine clown have a long and noble tradition of behaving with extreme silliness. See also their crazy cousins the Koyemshi.
