Many Gods have found this extremely irritating and have tried to attack her just to shut her up. But they haven’t a hope in hell against her magic powers.
At one point the bickering got so nasty that it started the first War of the Gods. The Aesir tried three times to burn her and each time she came back to life. Gods find that kind of thing extremely irritating.
Another legend insists that Gullveig and Loki conspired to kidnap Freya and that’s what kicked off the Godly War. Meanwhile, a little bird told us Gullveig could really be Freya in disguise. In which case was she abducting herself? Answers on a postcard please. Perhaps it was all just a cunning ruse.
