Actually they are not exactly ladies, more wood nymphs into grazing herds, dancing, and hypnotic harp playing.
They are so beautiful in a face-to-face confrontation, but what’s behind? Not a lot. They have a hollow back, and we do mean hollow. Plus a very long tail.
The Huldra may have more than a little in common with the Germanic Holda.
