SIGU
Also known as SIGO

Lifeboat God

The Acawai version of NOAH and the heroic son of MAKUNAIMA.

When a great gush of water from the Sacred Life Tree threatened to cover the Earth, SIGU knew just what to do.

First he made a magic basket to stop the flow. When that was accidentally knocked over by a curious monkey, he went for Plan B instead.

This involved locking up all the animals in a huge cave and sealing it with wax. Then he shinned up a very tall tree to await developments.

The flood waters covered the Earth for a long time... SIGU was very bored up in his tree. Every so often he'd drop a nut. Whenever it went 'plop' he sighed. Then one day it went 'thud'; the waters had subsided and it was now time to release the animals and start mopping-up operations.

We are often asked about merchandise. Can we supply the latest Sigu graphic novel, book or comic? Not to mention role-playing games (RPG), video games, Sigu movies on DVD, BluRay and so on. To purchase such goodies we suggest you search for a dedicated mythology-based online store - or try Amazon, Ebay or other reputable websites. We offer a wide range of our own merchandise in our online GodShop, but we don't currently sell third party items. Yet!

Visitors often email us asking about Sigu statues, sculptures or carved figurines of Sigu. We regret we cannot assist with identifying such items.
