African Death Spirit

Also known as AZRA'IL

Tunisian Angel of Death

He is handy spirit to know if you are tired of life, especially if you live in Tunisia. AZRAIL was called in when it was found mortals became a bit depressed after five hundred years or so of perpetual struggling.

This came to a head when an extremely elderly virgin refused all offers of continued existence and wished to rest in peace. MOSES prayed to ALLAH who reset humanity’s body clock to seventy-odd years. His angel AZRAIL was then dispatched to ensure that nobody’s clock overran.

This is a Muslim-based legend from Hausa-speaking people living in Tunisia. AZRAIL appears to be the same as the English angel AZRAEL. So now you know.
