WOYENGI

African Population Goddess

Creative Goddess of Human Resources

She came down to Earth on a streak of lightning, but all she found on arrival was a table, a chair and a flat stone. Oh yes, and extraordinary quantities of mud.

Happily, WOYENGI is very adept at creative crafts. She made lots and lots of little mud dolls and gave them the breath of life. They even had a choice of gender when it came to sticking on the extra wobbly bits.

Then came the job interviews. Each one was given career advice and offered a choice of occupation. Depending on their decision, each one was sent down a clear, muddy or tempestuous waterway to the appropriate H.R. Department.

After a while, some of them wanted to change their minds. Especially the ones in the muddy jobs. But the employment bureau had vanished, the welfare queue was closed and there was no going back. Even if you thought you had been sold down the river.
