FINTAN
Also known as SALMON-OF-KNOWLEDGE

A picture showing the legend of FINTAN taken from our Celtic mythology archives. Illustration by Chas Saunders. Read the story below or search the index for more Celtic Gods, Celtic Goddesses, heroes, demons and monsters!

The Salmon of Knowledge.

Where did he get his knowledge? From pootling around an NECHTAN's Well of Inspiration. Where did the Well get its inspiration? From the Hazel Nuts of Knowledge which overhung the Well.

Just a moment — there is a hazel tree just outside in our garden at the Hub of the Universe. How is it doing? What is that squirrel doing giving me a very rude gesture? Why is there not a single nut in sight?

What happened to FINTAN? He was burnt to a knowledgeable crisp thanks to FINEGAS, and gobbled down by FINN-MACCOOL.

We are often asked about merchandise. Can we supply the latest Fintan graphic novel, book or comic? Not to mention role-playing games (RPG), video games, Fintan movies on DVD, BluRay and so on. To purchase such goodies we suggest you search for a dedicated mythology-based online store - or try Amazon, Ebay or other reputable websites. We offer a wide range of our own merchandise in our online GodShop, but we don't currently sell third party items. Yet!

Visitors often email us asking about Fintan statues, sculptures or carved figurines of Fintan. We regret we cannot assist with identifying such items.
