ZHOU-WANG
Also known as CHOU-WANG, JOU-WANG, TCHEOU WANG

Chinese God of Sodomy

Emperor Zhao, last ruler of the Shang Dynasty, was much given to cruelty and debauchery. His favorite pastime was forcing slaves to swim naked in a wine-filled lake. (Which doesn't actually sound too bad to us. Maybe it was a bad vintage.)

When finally overthrown (despite the aid of CAI-SHEN in warrior mode) he went to Heaven to put in his immortality claim. There was nothing remotely suitable, so the Heavenly Judges had to create a post specially for him: God of Sodomy.

To curtail his activities he was only granted a single temple at Weihui in Henan. It's still there to this day, and you can worship there — if you really wish to.

We are often asked about merchandise. Can we supply the latest Zhou-wang graphic novel, book or comic? Not to mention role-playing games (RPG), video games, Zhou-wang movies on DVD, BluRay and so on. To purchase such goodies we suggest you search for a dedicated mythology-based online store - or try Amazon, Ebay or other reputable websites. We offer a wide range of our own merchandise in our online GodShop, but we don't currently sell third party items. Yet!

Visitors often email us asking about Zhou-wang statues, sculptures or carved figurines of Zhou-wang. We regret we cannot assist with identifying such items.
