St BLAISE
Also known as BLASE

Patron Saint of Sore Throats and Throat Disease, also Wool-Combers

Bishop of Sebastea and Martyr.

Known for his Blessing of the Throats, having saved the life of a boy with a fishbone in his throat. On his feast days two candles are placed on the throats of the faithful.

When the persecution of Christians broke out in Armenia he fled to the hills and lived in a cave blessing and healing wild animals.

He was betrayed by hunters and beheaded after near-starvation. He's also the Patron Saint of Wool-Combers, as wool was just the thing to wrap round sore throats.

We are often asked about merchandise. Can we supply the latest St Blaise graphic novel, book or comic? Not to mention role-playing games (RPG), video games, St Blaise movies on DVD, BluRay and so on. To purchase such goodies we suggest you search for a dedicated mythology-based online store - or try Amazon, Ebay or other reputable websites. We offer a wide range of our own merchandise in our online GodShop, but we don't currently sell third party items. Yet!

Visitors often email us asking about St Blaise statues, sculptures or carved figurines of St Blaise. We regret we cannot assist with identifying such items.
