Everyone’s heard of St Dafydd, the Patron Saint of Wales.
Strangely enough, very little is known about him except that his mother was probably St NON and that he was a Bishop in South Wales.
Geoffrey of Monmouth, the best-selling author of the day with his King Arthur blockbuster, makes this Saint the uncle of King Arthur.
His feast day is sadly not a Welsh public holiday, but patriots wear a commemorative leek. You have to take what you can get.
