St DAVIDAlso known as DEWI-SANT
Patron Saint of Cymru aka Wales
Everyone's heard of St Dafydd, the Patron Saint of Wales.Strangely enough, very little is known about him except that his mother was probably St NON and that he was a Bishop in South Wales.
Geoffrey of Monmouth, the best-selling author of the day with his King Arthur blockbuster, makes this Saint the uncle of King Arthur.
His feast day is sadly not a Welsh public holiday, but patriots wear a commemorative leek. You have to take what you can get.
