St ERMENILDA

Christian Saint

Also known as ERMENGILD, EORMENHILD

Queen of Kent and daughter of St SEXBURGA.

She became Abbess of Minster when her mother left to take over Ely.

Later she joined her mother at Ely and took over as abbess. She also brought her daughter St WERBERGA along to complete a powerful female dynasty.
