St PETER-CANISIUS

Christian Saint

Jesuit Priest and Doctor of the Church.

Hailing from the Netherlands, he was a delegate at the Council of Trent and given the job of sorting out unorthodox trouble spots like Ingolstadt and Vienna.

He seemed to be good at putting his ideas across in print and wrote a catechism that was used in over two hundred editions.

He went on to write treatises, give lectures and establish colleges that even Protestants would attend.
