St ROSE-OF-VITERBO

Christian Saint

Very young Preacher and Campaigner.

A precocious child, she joined the Franciscan Order at the age of eight and was preaching on the streets at twelve.

She also spoke out against Frederick II which got her banished at fourteen. After his death she tried again but nuns at a local convent refused to re-admit her because she was too poor, and then closed down the community she tried to establish on her own.

When she was seventeen she died and became Patron of Florists.
