St URSULA

Picture of the Christian Saint URSULA from our Christian mythology image library. Illustration by Chas Saunders.

Christian Saint

She allegedly took 11,000 virgins on a pilgrimage to Rome where they were wiped out by Huns.

That does seem like an awful lot of virgins. We suspect that a virgin named Undelimmillia had her name mistranslated. Undelim Millia is Latin for 11,000.

In that’s the case, allow for wild exaggeration.
