IPET

Egyptian Childbirth Goddess

Also known as Åpåpit, Apet, Åpit, Apt, Aptet, Aptu, Epet, Mother Of The Two Lands, Opet, Queen Of The Two Lands

Hippo Goddess of Birth

Ipet is not the latest Apple product – unless they have branched out into mythological iHippos.

In fact she is a deity of childbirth and the life-giving goodness of water. Quite a delivery. No wonder she resembles a hippopotamus.

She may well be a manifestation of the Great Mother Taweret but we feel you can never have enough hippos in mythology.
