DEVADATTA

Indian Evil God

Evil Cousin and Rival of BUDDHA

He did everything he could think of in the way of dirty tricks and booby traps to kill BUDDHA, but he was always thwarted. Mercenaries got converted, rogue elephants paid homage. He even attempted to poison him via toenail. Nothing ever went according to plan.

As he made a last personal attack on BUDDHA armed to the teeth, he was booby-trapped himself and vanished into a fiery mouth hidden in the ground, which opened up and swallowed him.
