MAITREYA

Smiling Buddha of the Future

Get back to the future with this cheerful BUDDHA. He is a delightfully happy — and very rotund — figure. It seems that in the future, everyone will be smiling and possess a large belly.

MAITREYA means 'Loving One' and there's lots to love about him too. He is persistently popular and you'll find statues of him everywhere.

His Chinese equivalent is MI-LO-FO.

We are often asked about merchandise. Can we supply the latest Maitreya graphic novel, book or comic? Not to mention role-playing games (RPG), video games, Maitreya movies on DVD, BluRay and so on. To purchase such goodies we suggest you search for a dedicated mythology-based online store - or try Amazon, Ebay or other reputable websites. We offer a wide range of our own merchandise in our online GodShop, but we don't currently sell third party items. Yet!

Visitors often email us asking about Maitreya statues, sculptures or carved figurines of Maitreya. We regret we cannot assist with identifying such items.
