MARUTS

Hindu Storm Gods

Also known as Rudras

Antique Vedic Storm Gods

They are the howling children of the ancient storm deity Rudra. They have iron teeth and roar like lions.

They may be associated with the Rudras. But there are conflicting reports — see Diti for another version. It is not certain how many there are. Reports range from seven to one hundred and eighty.

Bear in mind you have to allow for exaggeration and bluster. And also for people running away.
