CHEHOOIT

Native American Mother Goddess

Earth Mother Goddess and personification of the world

Created by QUAOAR, with a little help from WEYWOT, she is held in position by seven giants who prevent her from falling through space. (We’re not quite sure what supports the giants. Perhaps they support themselves.)

CHEHOOIT started life as a barren formless planet, but it wasn’t long before a huge helpful frog, along with certain other Godly Animals, tunneled and burrowed within her and gave rise to hills and valleys, fields and rivers.

One day Nekish, one of those supportive giants, asked her for a cap to keep his head warm. After all, it’s chilly work holding up the world in the depths of space. So she gave him a lovely hat made of plant fiber.

But he happened to notice the whole of humanity huddled together in the frozen wastes of the north, so he donated his hat to them. It was so large that they set up camp inside it and lived there for many a comfortable year until WEYWOT invited them all down to Southern California.

A most benevolent Earth Mother, CHEHOOIT provides a wealth of herbs and plants with amazingly medicinal properties. Even today her pharmacy does a roaring trade.
