Native American Hero God

Son of an Earth Maker, he had a long on-going tussle with the Great Eagle, who hated humans and was trying to decimate them.

The first attempt involved treating them as snacks, but they didn’t appeal to his Eagle tastebuds very much. So he came up with the idea of flooding the world, drowning all the humans and switching to a fish diet.

Eagles have always had the Thunder-Bird power (see WAUKHEON), capable of causing whatever wetness they wish, so the Great Eagle set to work. But our hero managed to cling onto something and survive.

As the waters receded a bit, SZEUKHA, like all great flood survivors, ended up on a mountain peak. Brace yourselves — this will come as a surprise. It was on this very mountain top that the Great Eagle had his aerie! The feathered foe was also taken by surprise, and then the feathers hit the fan.

There was a furious, ferocious fight to the finish with no holds barred. Or in SZEUKHA’s case, rocks. Many of which contained magic spirits. And you can’t drown rocks. It must have been very noisy with all the comic book vocabulary of Thud! Pow! Splat! Aaaarghh! etc. The Great Eagle ended up with claws curled upwards, bereft of all life and feathers.

So Creation had to start over again, with mud, water and a few extra ingredients of spilt blood and scraps of eagle.
