JANUS lurks in doorways and may also be the God of Janitors. He has two Roman noses. Looking in opposite directions, he symbolises the process of change and helps to turn the old into the new improved version.
His biggest job is getting us from one year to the next, which is why JANUS has a whole month named after him.
