St. MARCIAN OF CYRRHUS

Christian Saint

Also known as Marcian Of Chalcis, Marcian The Hermit

Grouchy Hermit with zero patience for interruptions

He was a Hermit from Cyprus who liked to talk to God in the desert on a one-to-one basis.

He was always being bothered by visiting bishops who kept traipsing all the way out there into the wilderness to see him. He gave them very short thrift.

“Do you mind? Can’t you see I’m having a private conversation? Just turn round and follow your footprints back to wherever it is you came from.”
