Lords of Silly Headgear

If the cap fits wear it. Certain important personages, of kingly status at least, are often portrayed wearing curious ornamented headgear somewhat similar to a medieval jesters’ cap, but with much more than bells on.

This has kept many scholars fooled for a very long time. Who says Gods don’t have a sense of humor?
