JARAMARANA

Indian Old Age concept

Also known as Jarā-Maraṇa, Jarāmaraṇa

The deadly Old Age and Death cycle

As soon as you’re born, you’re getting older. This leads inexorably to old age, decay and death.

And then you are reincarnated and do it all over again. So very tedious.

There is no getting away from decrepitude, wrinkles and sagging things without Enlightenment to break the cycle. In that sense Buddhism is like a wonderful burst of cosmetic surgery and Botox for the soul.
