SHAKA NYORAI

Japanese God

Also known as Shaka

Buddha in Japan

This is the name of Buddha when he visits Japan. Apparently his name in the original sanskrit was too squiggly for Japanese writing brushes to tackle, so they renamed him. Japanese Buddhism is full of this kind of thing.
