St. DOROTHEA

Christian Saint

Patron Saint of Florists and Gardeners, also Brides and Newlyweds

Martyr from Cappodacia. On her way to execution an onlooker named Theophilus jeered: “Come on then, send us some fruit and flowers from this Heaven of yours.”

Immediately beside him appeared a cherubic child with a basket of fruit and roses.

We imagine his reaction was something along the lines of: ‘Holy sh*t!’ A possible conversion there, and she is now the Patron of Florists.
