Extremely generous merchant's son
The son of a Lombardy merchant, he inherited the stock. And seemed determined to distribute all the profits amongst the poor.
His wife was not so sure the Lord would provide for them when they had nothing left to provide themselves. Our Saint just spent more time in church and used to assist at Matins.
One day he was seen kneeling before the crucifix until mass began and shortly after lying with arms outstretched in devotion. But the congregation found he was in fact no longer with us, or rather them.
There don’t seem to be any comments recorded from the wife.
