St. ONESIMUS

Christian Saint

Runaway slave turned Christian courier

He was a slave in New Testament times who fled from his master Philemon.

Making good his escape, he ran into St. Paul who converted him to the Christian point of view, and then sent him back to his master to beg forgiveness and freedom.

Surprisingly, this worked.

Onesimus then returned back to St Paul who used him as a messenger and gave his the opportunity to become a willing slave to God.
