St. THAÏS

Christian Saint

Egyptian courtesan-turned-nun

Allegedly she was an upper-class whore in Alexandria, Egypt.

A monk came across her performing her duties but best not to inquire how. He decided to convert her to the faith. She burnt all her fine clothes, destroyed her jewelry and rushed off to join a nunnery.

Nobody seems to know when this happened. If indeed it did. None of the people involved are willing to speak on the record and the nunnery never returns our calls.
